Past
Jonathan was born a third child within a secret underground city living apart from the rest of the utopian world, and he lived a fair life there, among others who all believed themselves to be equal in all aspects. It was a paradise in his mind, but it all came to an end with The Raid. It happened in the dead of night, enforcers streaming into the city and taking to the streets to round up all of the residents to be killed. Only the youngest children between the ages of ten and fifteen were pared, and Jon just barely made the mark at the age of nine and three quarters. From there, all the children were moved together in a group home where they were monitored, taught, and conditioned to be prime citizens. Jonathan never fully took to the teachings however, always questioning one aspect or another. Even so, he moved on with the others his age when all found jobs and moved out of the home to start their own lives.
Present
These days, Jonathan works a lower level job with fair pay for his status and lives alone in a moderate quality apartment towards the edge of the city. He has no social connections beyond that of his landlord and his employer, and even then, it is mostly only business. He abides by society laws fairly well, though has his outbursts from time to time of rebellious behavior, bringing concern for possible reconditioning or even termination.
